The Workforce Challenge Scholarship under the Arkansas Scholarship Challenge program was introduced in the 2017 legislative session, and this Scholarship is funded by lottery revenue. This Scholarship mainly gives the recipients three types of training categories, such as credit-bearing programs: non-credit, workforce-training classes.

Arkansas Workforce Challenge Scholarship 2024 Amount

The AWC is giving scholarships up to $800 per program to cover the cost of certificate programs. The Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE) is funding the scholarship grants, and the organization is trying to help students who are looking to reach their goals by applying for high-demand degrees and certificates. It is also important to note that this is a non-renewable grant. Still, those who have completed their study program are allowed to reapply for the award in another eligible program.

Note: 

Students who have received the Workforce Challenge scholarship benefits but have not completed their program or don’t attend the training program will also have a chance to reapply.

Disbursement

The scholarship funds of the Arkansas Workforce Challenge program are disbursed directly to the educational institution where the recipient is enrolled. The funds will not be disbursed to the eligible institution to the specific dates and it is also returned to the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE). If a student’s application is received too late for disbursement by these dates, the funds will be disbursed within 10 working days of receipt of the verification roster and electronic transfer of funds.

Application Process and Requirements for AWC 2024

  • Apply online at least 30 days before starting the program.
  • There is no deadline but apply as soon as possible.
  • Students who complete their program can reapply for another eligible program.
  • The current recipients of the Academic Challenge Scholarship are not acceptable.
  • ADHE has approved the admission for this program
  • 2024-2025 Academic Year Degree List
  • One student at a time can apply for one scholarship program but is not eligible for both the Academic Challenge and Workforce Challenge.
